"Rabbit Holes"

Very often snippets of information are provided that provoke more questions than they answer. I park these in a folder called "Rabbit Holes". I will also list thenm here:

Holt railway station and Langham airfield: The museum manager at Langham Dome informed me that he had seen a document relating to suppplies for RAF Langham being shipped via Holt Station, unfortunatley he can no longer locate the source of this information,

Witchford Airfield and Stretham station: According to the current owner of a local farm and further supplies for the airfield were recieved through the station. Oter sources suggest supplies would have come through Ely.

Bridge renewal at Badley (Suffolk): I have been supplied with images of bridge 277 on the Great EAstern Main line being renewed in Febraury 1943. The question arises as to if this was to do with wartime activity of routine maintainence?

Sidings at Needed Market: The same source as above has also sent images of work on the sidings at Needham Market in December 1939. It is suggested this might be to do with Wattisham airfield.

Thetford Area:  Following a visit to the Dads Army Museum in Thetford, two new questions have arisen. An accunt of these can be found here
